Situation
When I first joined the Machine Learning Society they were going through a rebranding and repositioning. There was indecision about which brand to rally behind. On one hand, there was the Machine Learning Society which had amassed 16K members across the United States. On the other hand, there was CO, a new social network for data scientists. How could we rebrand and reposition without alienating our members?
Task
I joined Machine Learning Society & CO as a co-founder. My role concentrated on leading the team through UX Design processes to help with the rebranding initiative.
Action
I prescribed the Design Sprint Methodology from Jake Knapp at Google Ventures synthesized with the CORE strategy framework from Jose Caballer from The Skool. I prescibed Design Sprints because I wanted to get the team to value as fast as possible.

Synthesizing Frameworks
CORE strategy focuses on branding, goal setting, and user personas; where as, Design Sprints focus on business vision, diagram mapping, and key players. Due to the cross over it's easy to synthesize the two frameworks to show value and provide a framework to reduce common pitfalls.
Goal Setting
Here it's important to note the 5 goals associated with any project; Awareness, Acquisition/Adoption, Retention, Referral, and Revenue. This helps us focus our tactics so we know what to add to the product roadmap.
Strategy
In this white board exercise, we discussed the marketing funnel, the calendar interval for our product launch, delegated action items, and determined key players for the launch.

Wireframe Sketching
This was part of the sketch wireframe exercise where we each sketched out what we thought was the most important part of the website.

Hi-Fidelity Mobile Prototyping
Here we began to look at higher visual design fidelity of the event managers user experience on mobile. Using mobile-first design, we're able to distill the experience down into its simplest form. The result was a more logical way to view infographics.
Sketching Micro-Interactions
Here is one of the sketch wireframes in mid-fidelity. This allowed us to prepare to build the screens in high fidelity at an accelerated pace.
MVP User Task Flow
Here you can see the distilled user flow where we strategically decided to use one social login instead of offering multiple. You can also note the exploration of landscape layout, and how responsive design goes from vertical portrait orientation to landscape horizontal.
Micro-Interactions
In this wireframe, we're exploring the interaction of "hearting" or "liking" events on the event page, and the interaction of what would happen next. This is documenting the micro-interaction or functional animation design.
Service Design
Here is the service blueprint for Machine Learning Society & CO. Drawing on my experience in service design at HeroX, I was able to see the parallels amongst the various crowdsourcing platforms I had designed, and provide Machine Learning Society & CO with a coherent service design blueprint.
Hi-Fidelity Prototype
Since, search was such a quentessential part of the user experience, I used secondary and primary research to make the design decision to combine search & filter into the same user interface.
Here, you can interact with the prototype yourself.
Launch Event
I had the honor of presenting at the Machine Learning Society keynote where we introduced CO Network for the first time to the members.
