How Construction Workers Desire To Work More Efficiently

Situation

I was brought into C2Group by my friend and business partner Sufyan Subzwari.

The first kickoff meeting I met the Co-CEOs Luis and Omneya.

Task
They explained to me they had an app that they made in 4 days, but no one wanted to use it.

The app was called Connect2.

Action
I prescribed a series of design sprints that would unlock why their app wasn’t usable and evolve it so that it would be easy for construction workers to use.

Keep in mind that their target audience of contractors don’t necessarily have the patience to wait or learn things out in the field.

The Result
The final result was that we opened the eyes of what increasing the efficiency of their work looked and felt like. What’s more is that C2Group was able to launch their product to an audience at a public event where it was very well received. This form of content marketing created thought leadership and built brand awareness for C2Group. 


Lessons Learned
In retrospect, I would have more clearly defined the product roadmap, and the workshop agenda. This is because their were several concerns during the design sprint about “what comes next?”

Also, setting better expectations for what the final deliverables would be, would have helped to end the project sooner rather than later.

Finally, training the front-end developers on my standards and principles for front-end web development would have accelerated production, and quality.
